How to Unlock Rubber Tapping
Your next harvest can come from a latex cup while your durians are still growing. Durian Garden rubber tapping gives you another product to sell, with a cutting minigame between planting and payday. Start by unlocking a rubber plot for 5,000 Cash, then buy rubber saplings at the Seed Shop.
In the Durian Garden 🍈 [Tester] build, the setup costs are:
| Purchase | Cost |
|---|---|
| Rubber plot unlock | 5,000 Cash |
| Rubber tree sapling | 1,500 Cash |
Keep money for saplings after paying for the plot. The unlock and the trees are separate purchases.
To get your grove started:
- Choose the plot you want to use.
- If it contains durian trees, remove them with the shovel.
- Open Change plot type and select the rubber option.
- Pay the unlock cost.
- Buy rubber saplings from the Seed Shop.
- Equip a sapling and plant it in the converted plot.
Shoveling a tree permanently removes it. Harvest any ready durians before clearing an orchard, or use an empty plot to keep those trees.
If a rubber sapling will not plant, check the plot type before buying anything else. Owning the sapling does not make a durian plot suitable for rubber trees.

Growing Rubber Trees and Managing Water
Rubber trees need time to mature before you can tap them. Watch the tree’s growth percentage and remaining timer rather than judging readiness by its size. Collection cups appear as the trees develop, but a visible cup does not mean rubber is ready to pick up.

Keep your watering can filled and respond when a tree needs water. Repeated watering does not instantly finish the rubber tree’s growth timer, so use that waiting time to harvest durians or make a selling trip.
Durian fertilizer does not work on rubber trees in the Tester build. Save those items for eligible durian trees instead of repeatedly trying them on your grove.
Hired workers can handle watering, which reduces trips between trees and the water supply. Their watering work does not replace harvesting: you still need to complete the tapping interaction and collect the rubber yourself. Keep enough Cash available for wages if you hire help.
How to Complete the Rubber-Tapping Minigame
Once a tree is ready, interact with it to begin tapping. The cutting interaction requires you to hold and drag along the marked line. Simply clicking the tree is not enough.
Follow this sequence:
- Start the tapping interaction on a ready tree.
- Hold the input and trace the indicated cut.
- Finish the movement along the line.
- Read the accuracy result before moving to another tree.
The minigame gives percentage results alongside perfect results. Use that feedback to adjust your next attempt.
Follow the marked path with a continuous motion. If a careful drag fails, try completing the next stroke more quickly while staying on the line. Speed alone does not replace accuracy, and a failed cut can leave you without latex from that attempt.
Start with a small grove while learning the interaction. Each ready tree gives you another chance to practice without committing all your planting money at once.
When to Collect Latex and Tap Again
A successful cut starts latex flowing into the collection cup. Tapping and collecting are separate actions: finish the cut, then let the cup fill before returning for the harvest.
The Tester build includes a collection wait of about five minutes. Follow the tree’s displayed timer and ready prompt instead of repeatedly trying to collect an unfinished cup.
Build your routine around these stages:
- Tap a ready tree.
- Move through the rest of your grove.
- Harvest durians or handle watering while latex collects.
- Return when the rubber is ready.
- Collect the rubber block.
- Tap again when the tree allows the next interaction.
Collecting rubber opens the way for another tapping cycle. Check each harvested tree before leaving the grove so you can start its next round promptly.
Loading Rubber and Finding the Selling Point
Collected rubber becomes a block you can load into your truck. Rubber and durians can share the vehicle, but they have separate selling points.
Use the Rubber Sell area for your rubber shipment. Driving to the durian buyer does not complete the rubber-selling part of your trip.
Before leaving home:
- Collect the ready rubber blocks.
- Load them into the truck.
- Add any durians you also want to sell.
- Visit the matching selling point for each product.
Check the truck’s contents before pressing sell. The selling interaction handles loaded cargo; items you are still carrying need to be loaded first.
Inspect the displayed value of your blocks when collecting them so you know what is going into the shipment.
Plan Your Grove Around Rebirth
Rebirth resets Cash, unlocked plots, trees, and seeds, along with other farm progress. Vehicles remain available.
If you are preparing to rebirth, do it before spending heavily on a new rubber grove. Otherwise, you can pay for the conversion, buy saplings, wait through their growth, and then lose those trees when you reset.
Read the reset list before confirming. Rebirth’s listed reward is a Durian Sell Bonus, so plan your rubber investment around the farm progress you are willing to rebuild.
